Netball Warm Up Game for Juniors

Netball Warm Up Game for Juniors

This Netball Warm Up Game for Juniors courtesy of CE Elite Netball Academy is a great way to get young players switched on without making the start of training feel too serious. Players work in pairs, with one player throwing soft marker cones while the other uses quick feet and sharp reactions to dodge them while staying on the line. Simple setup, lots of movement, and just enough chaos to keep juniors fully involved.

It's especially useful for new players or teams with new teammates, as it gives everyone something easy to join in with straight away. There is no complicated explanation, no pressure to perform a perfect netball skill, and plenty of chances for players to relax, laugh and start communicating. (Sneaky coaching win.)

From a netball point of view, this warm up game works well because it activates the kind of movement players actually need on court. Dodging, balance, foot speed, body control, changes of direction and reaction time all come into play, but in a way that feels more like a game than a drill.

Add this into the first part of a junior netball training session. It's a simple netball warm up game for juniors that helps players loosen up, settle into the group and prepare their bodies for the session ahead.
